Hey there!

I'm Dia Bhalothia

I’m a recent graduate from UC San Diego, studying cognitive science with a specialization in Design and Interaction and a minor in Computer Science. I aim to use a design as a tool to impact people’s lives by creating a meaningful change.

HCI

I’ve always been drawn to problem-solving, which is what led me to start college as a Math and Computer Science major at UCSD. But once I got deeper into the coursework, I realized I wasn’t passionate about solving abstract problems in isolation. That changed when I took my first Design class. I got to interview real users, understand their pain points, and iteratively improve a project to better meet their needs. It was the first time I felt like I was solving problems that truly mattered—and I knew I had found my passion. I decided to pursue a major in Design and Interaction, while continuing a minor in Computer Science, which has helped me bring my design ideas to life and build functional, impactful solutions.

Life Outside Of Design :))

🍿 Movie Buff at Heart
I adore watching movies because they transport me to different worlds and emotions. My all-time favorite genre? Romantic comedies—they never fail to warm my heart and make me smile. I’ve seen How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days more than 10 times, and I still laugh like it’s the first

📚 Hopeless Romantic & Bookworm
I’m passionate about reading, especially love stories that tug at your heartstrings. I’ve read over 100 romance novels (and counting!) and find solace in characters who remind me that vulnerability is strength. I’m an unapologetic romantic through and through.

💃 Dance is My Therapy
Dancing is my way to unwind and reconnect with myself. It’s a joyful escape that helps me reset after a long day. I go to dance workshops every week—it’s become a ritual that fills me with energy, rhythm, and confidence.

🍽️ Global Food Explorer
Trying new food is my favorite form of adventure. I’ve gone food hopping in over 13 countries—from Spanish tapas to Tokyo ramen—and nothing makes me feel better after a stressful day than discovering a new flavor (or devouring a perfectly crispy dosa).
